As I look further at the 2010 Kia Sorento and talk to Kia people I guess it is marketed by Kia as a 2011 Kia Sorento but it was available to the public in late 2009 and will be sold all during 2010. Kia of today is like Hyundai of the nineties, it has improved dramatically from its original introduction it used to be the cheap car with the long warranty. It is now a much improved vehicle and the Kia Sorento can hold its own with the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV 4 and the Hyundai Tucson. The 2010/11 Kia Sorento is all new and remodeled and is a very nice small SUV that can hold its own with the rest as far as power and amenities. There are three four cylinder models and one V-6 model. The Sorento, the Sorento LX and the Sorento EX-I4 have the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder with DOHC and 16 valves. It delivers 172 horsepower at 6000 RPM and 166 lb-ft of torque at 3750 RPM. Not a real powerhouse but very adequate unless you are doing some heavy towing in the mountains. This model is the Sorento with the 6 speed manual. The LX and the EX-I4 are equipped with the six speed automatic with Sportamtic shifting. It has electronically Controlled All wheel Drive. It is front engine and either front or All Wheel Drive. The EX-V6 has a 3.5 liter DOHC 24 valve V-6 that puts out 273 horsepower at6300 RPM and 247 lbs-ft of torque at 5000 RPM It uses the 6 speed Sportmatic shifting automatic and electronically controlled All Wheel drive also. Both models have power assisted four wheel disc brakes with ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. The regular Sorento has 17 inch tires and wheels while the EX models have 18 inch tires and wheels. The new Sorento has all the latest and most up to date safety equipment. The Sorento has front/front side/ and side curtain airbags with rollover sensor. Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, front active headrests, Downhill Brake Control, Hill-Start assist and front fog lights are standard on the EX. The EX models have leather seats, sunroof, Bluetooth wireless technology, an Infinity audio system with 10 speakers, Sirius satellite Radio, USB auxiliary input jacks, voice command navigation system and a rear DVD player with wireless headphones. Of course like all new Kias, the new Sorento comes with the10 year/100,000 mile limited power train warranty. The 2010/11 Kia Sorento comes in eight exterior colors, three cloth interior colors, three cloth and leather combination colors and two leather colors. I like the Dark Cherry EX V-6 with the Beige Leather interior The base Kia Sorento can be had for right at $20,000 and a loaded out EX V-6 will just barely top $30,000. Oh and now the Sorento is made in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
